Escape to the Country star Nicki Chapman opened up about "living in fear" after a terrifying health diagnosis.

presenter previously revealed that she 'lives in fear' of her health deteriorating.

During an interview last year with The Mirror, Nicki opened up about her health scare. Despite leading a glamorous life, Nicki found herself in a field of pigs last year when she received the best news of her life.

The star had undergone surgery in 2019 to She was filming for a TV show when her doctor called with the fantastic news that her tumour had disappeared and she was given the all clear.

Nicki shared: "I was filming Escape To The Country and standing in a field of pigs when my consultant phoned me. He told me my brain tumour had gone. I asked him, 'Is that usual? ' And he said, 'Yes, but it's quite rare.' I immediately phoned my husband Dave and we were both in tears. It was such a huge relief to us both."

However, while it was a moment of joy for Nicki, 56, she isn't taking anything for granted and while she realises how fortunate she is - Nicki admits to living with fear that it could return.

Nicki opened up about the terrifying moment she realised her health was in jeopardy, recalling an incident four years ago when she struggled with basic tasks. She explained that when she was trying to read an email on her laptop, she couldn't quite see it.

At first Nicky put it down to tiredness and lack of concentration.

However, a holiday break didn't alleviate her symptoms, and Nicki knew it wasn't just fatigue or menopause at play. She explained: "I went on holiday, felt fine, came back, did a photoshoot and that afternoon realised I couldn't see again. Then I had to do a voiceover and I couldn't speak. I walked into the edit, sat down and the editor was chatting away and I looked at him and thought, 'I can't talk to you.' Nothing was coming out."

Despite being a private person, Nicki, who is married to music producer and Sony BMG executive Dave 'Shacky' Shackleton, felt it was important to go public with her illness to support others facing similar challenges.

Nicki has bravely shared her experience with a life-threatening condition and said: "It is a very frightening condition to be told you have and also such a shock for your family, too. Fortunately, my experience was a good one, my recovery was amazing, but I still take one day at a time. I'm a very positive person, so to always put a positive spin on life has helped keep me going."
