People have been left gobsmacked after discovering a strange detail on the Union Jack flag.
Being the national flag of the UK, you don't expect it to include reference to America. But that's exactly what happened recently when an eagle-eyed Brit spotted something rather strange.
They were left so bewildered that they posted about the matter on X, formerly known as Twitter, and it has since gone viral. A snap of the flag was shared alongside a simple question mark and it got a lot of people talking.
In the picture you can clearly see that "made in the USA" is written along the side of the paper product. People couldn't believe their eyes as NoContextBrits drew their attention to it.
Naturally, it got a lot of people talking, and they were totally bewildered by the discovery. Some seemed to think it was a bit of a faux pas.

One person replied, saying: "Totally not made in China at all." Another added: "This is a disgrace."
A third chirped in with: "Get someone else to do the work for you." Meanwhile, a fourth commented: "Seriously? The British flag made in America? Talk about irony!"
Others were also quick to share their own unusual findings, with one chap sharing a picture of his Eiffel Tower souvenir that was "made in England". Another person shared a snap of an American flag that was apparently "made in China".
Some even pointed out that some designs are upside down, which got a lot of people giggling. Meanwhile, others seemed adament that most of the flags are made in China.
The disocvery was also deemed "typical" by a few who didn't seem surprised by the finding. One more wrote: "They actually make things in the USA? Who knew?"

If you're not clued up on your history, the Union Jack was also once used as the official flag of several British colonies and dominions before they had flags of their own. Now, it still carries official status in Canada by parliamentary resolution, but here it's known as the Royal Union Flag.
According to reports, it first appeared as the flag of Great Britain in 1606. The most recent design of the flag derives from a royal proclamation following the union of Great Britain and Ireland in 1801.
It brings together aspects of three older national flags, including the red cross of St George for the Kingdom of England, the white saltire of St Andrew for the Kingdom of Scotland, and the red saltire of St Patrick to represent Ireland.
Despite this, no symbols are included to represent Wales. This means Wales was the only home nation with no direct representation.
According to reports, it's said this is because at the time of the Laws in Wales Acts 1535 and 1542 (creating legal union with England) the idea of national flags were in the very early stages.
As for the dragon on the Welsh flag, this symbol was adopted as a supporter in the royal coat of arms of England utilised by the Tudor dynasty from 1485.
