Our Yorkshire Farm's Reuben Owen 'upset people' after off-camera incident

Our Yorkshire Farm star Reuben Owen admitted he "upset" a lot of people during his recent trip to France with his Channel 5 co-stars Sarah Dow and Tommy. When asked about the highlight of going abroad for the first time with his pals, the young farmer said: "My favourite part of the holiday was driving my Land Rover in France. I loved it.

"It made me think of those old episodes of Top Gear when they go across a country in a slightly knackered vehicle. That’s what it felt like. The old Land Rover never let us down, the French motorways were lovely, and you cruise along with all the French people looking on. They don’t see very many Land Rovers over there."

However, Reuben went on to explain that while he loved driving on the roads, there was a "slight incident". "I think I upset some police people," he continued. "I was basically on the wrong side of the road. I heard the sirens coming and I thought I would get myself off the road but because it’s the opposite of what it is over here, I ended up just getting more in their way.

"So I was pulled over and told off by a French policeman. I think it was caught on camera with us all in the Land Rover, so it’ll be aired on TV. I apologised to the French police. I didn’t know what I was doing!"

When asked about his relationship, the farmer said: "Me and Sarah were together, we're no longer together but we're still very good friends.

Reuben and Sarah struck up a romance after meeting through their co-star Tommy.

Previously discussing how they met, Sarah said on Beyond The Yorkshire Farm: "I met Reuben through Tommy, actually. We just got on really well and he taught me some stuff.

"I'm going to do an engineering course at college and I feel like I could adapt some of this towards that because I kind of know a bit about the machines now."
