Joshua Wahab was left gasping for air and needing an oxygen mask after a shocking first-round knockout by Mark Chamberlain during their bout in Riyadh on Saturday evening, part of the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk undercard. The fight was short-lived as 25-year-old Chamberlain launched a fierce attack on his opponent.

A remarkable early combination led to Chamberlain flooring Wahab, prompting the referee to end the fight before the conclusion of the first round. Medical intervention was required for the Ghanaian fighter.

Thankfully, after an oxygen mask was administered, Wahab sat up and seemed to have escaped any severe injuries. However, his professional record took a hit, with two losses in his last three fights, bringing his record to 23-2.

On the other hand, Chamberlain's impressive knockout extended his unbeaten streak to 16 career fights. Post-match, he expressed his astonishment at how easily he managed to defeat Wahab.

Speaking to TNT Sports, he said: "To be honest with you I'm a bit frozen at the minute because of how quick everything has happened. I spent longer warming up in the changing rooms. I prepared for a hard 12 rounds. I expected a hard 12 rounds because obviously he's no mug, look at his record, there's only one little blemish on there. Great fighter.

"First big shot I caught him with. I knew I had to take my time but I did not expect to get him out in the first round, that's for sure."

Chamberlain then opened up on a potential future bout with Sam Noakes but admits he has moved on and now has other fights on his mind. He added: "Listen, we're both on different paths it's quite clear now."

"I should have picked up the European title last time out but obviously with the IBF, I couldn't. But that's old news now and I'm on a different path now financially and if it makes sense then I'm sure Frank will make sure it makes sense but at the minute, I'm just doing what I'm doing it and I'm loving it while I'm doing it and I'm just picking up my first major title.

"I'm top ten in ther WBC and I'm top ten in the WBA so I'm up there in the rankings and like Frank just said I'm two or three fights away from a world title now so we're on different paths, it's quite clear, let's be honest."
