Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is set to bid farewell to Reds fans on Sunday when his side host Wolves in their final clash of the season. The German has spent the best part of a decade in the Anfield dugout and has led his side to huge success on the pitch. But the people of Liverpool can also be thankful to Klopp’s wife Ulla Sandrock for the impact she has had on the area during the couple’s time on Merseyside.
According to The Times, Klopp married Ulla in 2005 after meeting her while she was working as a waitress at his favourite bar in Mainz. He had already divorced his first wife Sabine by that stage and was the manager of Mainz after enjoying an 11-year playing career with the club.
The couple’s wedding was modest, with just 50 close friends and family attending a town hall ceremony in Mainz on a Monday afternoon. And they had to wait a few weeks before they could enjoy their honeymoon as Mainz still had three matches remaining ahead of the winter break.
Do Klopp and his wife have any children?
Klopp has a son called Marc from his first marriage. Klopp junior, 35, is a retired footballer, having played as a right-back for the likes of Karbener and the Borussia Dortmund second string. Ulla has a son called Dennis from her previous marriage, but the couple don’t have any children together.

What does Ulla do for work?
Ulla used to be a social worker and spent three years working with children in Kenya before meeting her husband. After working as a waitress, she then published a children’s book months before her wedding to Klopp called Elli and Pit, or Who is the goalkeeper of Mainz 05? The novel tells the story of a nine-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy who dream of playing in goal for the Mainz youth team.
Ulla went on to publish a second book entitled Tom and the Magic Football, which features an 11-year-old boy who becomes an amazing football player because of a magic football.

Klopp and his wife have lived in Steven Gerrard's former house in Formby since 2015. According to the Liverpool Echo, Klopp has been regularly spotted at pubs and restaurants since moving to the area, with the couple also taking an interest in local grassroots football.
Ulla made a substantial donation to Formby Community Football Club when their army of volunteers organised food and medicine deliveries, phoned isolated people and cut people's grass during the first Covid-19 lockdown in 2020.
And around the same time, Ulla also handed out 20 £50 food vouchers to staff at the Waitrose in Formby. She personally passed the vouchers to people working on the shop floor. “This was an incredible thing to do,” acknowledged one staff member. “Typically, Ulla didn't want to make a fuss, or receive any recognition, and just wanted people working in shops to get the recognition they deserve.”
