The Foo Fighters will apparently be making a surprise appearance tomorrow night, with the Daily Mail reporting that the performance will have a tender touch.

On the Glastonbury lineup, the 6:10pm slot on The Pyramid stage is currently held by a seemingly non-existent band called The Churnups.

Fans have hypothesized what artist might be hiding behind the alias, with some claiming the name itself hinted that it would be Sheffield rock band Pulp.

However, a source told the outlet that the Foo Fighters will be taking the stage, with legendary designer David Hockney creating graphics for the “special gig”.

The Foo Fighters themselves have seemingly stoked the rumours of their Glastonbury return with a cryptic Instagram post earlier this month, after The Churnups’ slot appeared.

Showing a photo of a handwritten letter from singer Dave Grohl, the post read: “It’s been a while…

“Now that we’ve returned from our first run of shows, I felt compelled to reach out and thank you all for being there for us.

“Every night, when I see you singing, it makes me sing harder. When I see you screaming, it makes me scream louder. When I see your tears, it brings me to tears. And when I see your joy, it brings me joy.

“But, I see you…and it feels good to see you, churning up these emotions together. Because we’ve always done this together.

“Time and time again. See you soon.”

If the Everlong musicians do make a surprise appearance, it will undoubtedly be an emotional moment for the band following the death of their drummer, Taylor Hawkins, in March last year.

The Foo Fighters took an extended hiatus from performing after the death of their bandmate and close friend, making an exception for the sensational Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in September.

The band only returned to touring last month, after introducing Josh Freese as their new drummer and releasing their latest album But Here We Are, which is dedicated to Taylor.

In 2017, Foo Fighters finally got their headlining slot at Glastonbury after having to pull out of the festival the year before when Dave Grohl broke his leg.

The incredible set held countless surprises and thrills for fans, with Dave and Taylor seamlessly switching roles for an exceptional rendition of Queen’s Under Pressure.
