Dr Ranj says Phillip Schofield is ‘not in an easy place’ after ‘toxic’ This Morning claims
Phillip Schofield's former This Morning co-star Dr Ranj Singh has urged people to be "mindful" of the presenter, after he branded the ITV show "toxic".

Weeks after the fallout from Phillip Schofield’s This Morning exit, after admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague, Dr Ranj Singh has spoken out on the star.
This Morning’s former resident health expert had also weighed in on the drama surrounding the ITV show, as he branded the programme “toxic” behind-the-scenes.
Addressing the backlash aimed at Phillip, Dr Ranj urged people to be “mindful” of the difficult place the presenter is currently in.
He told MailOnline: “I never agree with trolling ever – I don’t think it’s acceptable.
“I don’t necessarily agree with what has happened with Phillip and what he has done, and as Carolyn McCall has said, it was inappropriate, but I think we have to be careful when we are responding to people like that, that we don’t go too far.
“I agree it’s not an easy place to be for him, and we have to be mindful of that.
“He’s still a human-being and has feelings and it’s not an easy thing to be on the other side of that.
“I think we all need to all be a bit more mindful about how we interact with each other.”
Dr Ranj also clarified to the publication that his criticism of This Morning was not related to Phillip.

“What I spoke about was nothing to do with him,” the GP and TV presenter added.
It comes after Ranj spoke up to share his concerns about a “toxic” culture that he had noticed while working at This Morning.
Ranj went on to claim that he felt like he was “managed out” of the ITV show for whistleblowing.
The TV personality divulged in a social media post following the news about Phillip: “I even took my concerns directly to the top of ITV: the culture at This Morning had become toxic, no longer aligned with ITV values, and I felt like because I whistle-blew I was managed out
“The whole process was heart-breaking and even affected my mental health. But I’m happy to say I’ve found my feet again, know my worth and have found my tribe…
“There are some good people in TV, but we need to be brave and stand up to those who aren’t. Even if it’s scary as hell, we have to do the right thing otherwise nothing will change.”
A letter written by ITV boss Dame Carolyn McCall to culture secretary Lucy Frazer, DCMS Committee chair Dame Caroline Dinenage and Ofcom’s chief executive Dame Melanie Dawes, stated that an external review was conducted over Dr Ranj’s complaint.
However, she said the review had found “no evidence of bullying or discrimination”.
