Love Island star and professional boxer Tommy Fury has unveiled an unexpected career move.

The 25-year-old found fame on the ITV dating show in 2019 and is engaged to influencer Molly-Mae Hague.

The film, written by Niki Sheldrake and marking the directorial debut of Danny Sawaf, follows two brothers entangled in a criminal underworld as they attempt to repay their late father's debts to a notorious loan shark.

The "black comedy crime film" has a synopsis that states: "Soon enough, they become involved in a criminal underworld and entangled in a web of blackmail and deceit with a host of insalubrious characters."

The key roles of Colin and Stanley are still to be announced, but Tommy will play the character Johnny, one of Maggie's henchmen.

Meanwhile, Paul Anderson, famed for his role as Arthur Shelby, is set to portray Terry, a womanising alcoholic in hot water with his work colleague Dirk (Leo Gregory).

Speaking about the intriguing script, Director Danny Sawaf enthused: "The script is operatic and the tone is a not-so-subtle cluster of neuroticism, dismay and quintessential British dark humour.

"It has universal themes of survival engulfed in a lurking Kafka-esque feeling of high-stakes and hysterical satire, with events unfolding in unimaginable ways. People die debts don't and I can't wait to bring this story to life."

In relation to his exciting announcement of joining the film, Tommy said: "THE DEBT INHERITED. PEOPLE DIE. DEBTS DON'T. So excited to announce I'll be making my acting debut in - THE DEBT INHERITED. Great cast, cannot wait to start shooting. Massive thanks to @dannysawaf and @oceanastudios looking forward to working with you all."

Fans were left stunned by the announcement, with many rushing to congratulate him on his new acting job.

Tommy also took to his Instagram Story to express his excitement, writing: "A massive goal of mine achieved.."

His fiancee Molly-Mae Hague, with whom he shares baby daughter Bambi, has not yet made any public remarks regarding his latest venture.

This silence comes after fans expressed their worry when she seemingly overlooked his birthday, neglecting to post any celebratory message online.

Earlier in the year, Tommy ventured into another new career path as he authored a tell-all book, becoming a published writer.
