Your editorial claims that the jailing of the British teacher for insulting Islam has nothing to do with Islam. In fact it has everything to do with Islam. Islam is intolerant of other faiths and only Islamic countries have legislation in place which punish those who ridicule and deride that religion. An example of Islamic reaction to insults against the prophet Muhammad was the imposition of death threats against Salman Rushdie. One never hears of mobs of Christians rioting and threatening to kill those who blaspheme Jesus Christ. That the death penalty is required to keep Muslims in the fold proves Islam's inability to win hearts and minds. Not one Muslim country in the world offers the freedoms we hold dear in the West, of the press, right to vote, of religion. Islam cannot survive where people are free to choose.
