Scrap the plans now!

The government is not my master, it is my servant, I allow it to make laws for the benefit of the population, however this ID card proposition is of no benefit to anyone at all. Even less benefit is the hidden database behind it, that the Govt wish us all to be on.

I am me, I have no need to carry an ID card to prove who I am. Should I wish banking services, medical services et al, then I can prove who I am with various pieces of currently acceptable ID.

The reasons for more ID required when opening bank accounts, have been brought in by this govt, to stop money laundering supposedly, but in reality its to make banking and other things we need ID for more difficult, so we will all be more ameanable to having one Govt ID card.

The debacle caused by this govt, in losing 25 killions peoples data showns that a miriad of documents to prove ones ID is preferable to an ID card. Since the data cannot be guaranteed to be safe.

Remember the only other Govt's in history that required every persons ID and data on record are Hitlers Germany and the russian KGB, and look what happened there!

This is an attack on our civil liberties and changes the way the state and citizen behave towards each other. My DNA, my fingerprints, my life is MINE! I am not something that belongs to the state. The state has as much control over me as I wish to gie it! I will not be compelled, cajoled nor coerced into giving my DNA or data to this stasi/Nazi like authoritarian government!
