New year big freeze is coming

Not quite.
Piers Corbyn and Jonathan Powell bring down the reputation of proper forecasters with comments like this.
Every time there is a cold spell on the way a story like this pops up, everytime it's totally wrong.

Its not going to be that bad, East/North East England and East Scotland look like getting some snow on Wednesday and Thursday, but not on the scale of '87. Away from this area the risk is lower.

I only hope people know by now to disregard these stories.
