no free I share your skepticism of letting the state play god. we couldn't even get the millenium dome right...

I don't think we should entrust the state with questions of who should live and who should die... but I think there are cases were life should mean life. there are people who shouldn't be walking the streets. A good chunk of them seem to be in HYS.
