Having served in the RAF during the 80's & 90's it was advised then not to wear uniform off any units at all. Those days it was the PIRA, RAFG, unemployed and young yobs.

It has not changed with the yobs and unemployed, but there is a lot more multi national integration forced upon us nowadays and this is another effect of it. Not only that, but there are now the muslim fanatics to contend with on our soils.

RAF Wittering is only the tip of the iceburg of something that is happening all over the country. Well done the CO of Wittering for making a decision and putting their staff first and not the government.

The government will say the words but won't follow it with action. They cannot safegaurd the population now, so what chance is there of individuals - Hollow words from a defunct gov.

Servicemen will be laughing in the bar tonight with all this visibility on something that has been routinely acknowledged by the services for years.
