Has Britain lost its identity?

Britain identifies itself in different ways. when foriegners look at Britain they are actually confusing it with England and probably further confusion exists because they probably think England is reflected in the capital city London, nothing could be further from the truth of course. Our identity needs to be reinforced in the world, this identity is one that values tolerance, honesty, paying your way, giving everyone an equal chance, ensuring that cultures in danger of obliteration are protected (eg Darfur, Kosovo, England et al ), These citizenship ceremonies will be helpful to reinforce obligations of the individual to the state in some instances but in a world that operates at an amoral level most will only comply with their obligations to the country when it profits them to do so.
