smoking ban
Published: Sunday March 30,2008 by Shell22
Surely, the government coul have introuce a 'smoking room' in pubs? Our local had an extractor that sucked the smoke straight up, so that it was never smoky, an non smokers said it was very effective. The government don't stop selling ciggarettes - yet they o everything in their power to make it difficult for smokers. I realise all of the health risks, but surely, it is a matter of choice, as it isn't illegal? Why don't the goverment concentrate on the effects of alcohol - where people get in a car an drive, people whp fight or think they are superhuman, men & men who beat their partners when they have had a drink? This is a mood changing stimulant - you could smoke 200 cigarettes in an evening, and it wouldn't change your mood. Norway & Sweden have an immediate ban if you are found to have even one drink and are behind the wheel. A legal limit is useless, as alcohol affects different people in different ways, and every persons level of tolerance is different. 24 hour drinking was a stupid idea, and so was the smoking ban - but does it come as any surprise that the smoking ban isn't in operation in the Houses of Parliament? Hypocrites.
