Can you be British!

I'm just a few months off retirement age,and for most of my years,although money was always a problem,I have felt good enough about life to have been happy!..However...Several years ago,I decided to leave the UK and move to abroad!...I'm still happy! .Often, people ask me where I'm from,and although I no longer feel pride in being English,I tell them the truth!
