Inflation at 11.5%pa

Published: Thursday May 1,2008 by TrevorD

Well, it never was 2% or anything like it. Just another Labour lie.
And the government itself - allegedly committed to keeping inflation below 2% - increased planning application fees on 6th April 2008 .... by an average of 26.4%, and increased the maximum application fee a housing developer could pay to the council to consider his application from £50,000 to £250,000 !
A quarter of a million quid to "consider" a planning application? Planners get paid £30,000 - £40,000 pa. They do not earn fees of the kind charged by Mike Mansfield or the late George Carman !
