Overpaid and incompetent

"(they)complain that their pay compares badly with company bosses and senior civil servants."

There's a reason for this. They're no where near as competent as most Company Bosses.

Not only that, Company Bosses aren't able to claim expenses without receipts, while MP's are (below a certain limit), which is surely leaving the system wide open for fraudulent claims.

It's about time MP's were accountable, preferably to those of us (ie most of us) who pay their wages
