NHS Staff Bonuses

Our local newspaper has revealed that ALL staff working for our NHS Trust, have been rewarded with a M & S gift voucher for £25, the total cost £131000. this can be confirmed by the lead article of The Express & Echo, local paper for the Exeter area.
I would be one of the first to congratulate the MEDICAL staff of our local hospital for their dedication and hard work, however to reward everyone on the payroll just goes to demean the skills and hard work of the front line staff.
I find it hard to believe that Tax Payers money is distributed like this and is our local NHS unique in this, or is it common practise across the country, if so this would total a considerable sum of money.
To add insult to injury, it appears some staff have been given Garden Centre vouchers of £150 on retirement.
Talk about "one thing after another" this country is certainly going down the tubes, if it hasnt already reached the bottom.
