You say "people wonder why we still get the same tired old policies from the same tired old parties".

Well, getting back to the topic, perhaps the answer is because the tired old parties all pay high-powered, yuppie advisers to line their own pockets to give them advice that NOBODY elected them to give. These "advisers" don't stand for election do they? Some of them are not even British. They just suddenly appear after the election when nobody can do anything about it.

Perhaps that's why people are, as you say, turning to parties that actually know what people want and donot need to be swayed by unelected (sometimes foreign) advisers pursuing their own vested interests.
