Lack of transparency

Published: Sunday May 18,2008 by loneturtle

I work in a care home where one of the residents was admitted to hospital..... where he contracted C difficil. Although lab samples were taken to check for this, he was discharged before the results were checked. The hospital failed to contact us despite the fact that staff and other residents were put at risk. The GP was called out and he arranged for re-admission to hospital...... to find that they had been aware of the resident's condition for a week without notifying us.

It seems to be policy to never openly admit to cases of MRSA infections unless forced to do so.
