Fine words, but the people want a lessening of government intrusion into their private lives. The Brits are a 'private' people, we wish to run our own lives. We don't want to be bludgeoned out of our right to choose for ourselves whether or not we smoke, drink and eat as and when (and where) we wish, especially by incompetent bureaucrats. This feeling has been clearly shown by the abysmal showing by Labour in the polls. Will Mr Cameron assure us that he intends, if elected, to smash the Nanny State ideology as soon as he gains power? If not, then I'm afraid that he will fail. The Brits are no fools and politicians ignore them at their peril.
