problem is. Over here in Germany we have been recycling for years. For our family of five, we have three large green 'recycle' bins for plastic, tin, aluminium, etc. (glass goes into bins at every Supermarket), a 'bio' bin for grass cuttings, food, egg shells etc, a 'paper' bin for newspapers and boxes, and a small 'rubbish' bin for anything else, which isn't much. The money that our town makes for 'recycling' provides for tennis courts, football pitches, an inside and outside swimming pool, a library, a party for our Senior Citizens every year, and a gymnasium which is open every night until 10pm for our teenagers. Anything which has an arrow for recycling gets recycled, there is no confusion!
