Well first of all, if enough of us refuse to pay for this gross intrusion even this government will realise that there aren't enough courts and prisons to cope with the reaction. To the argument that if you have nothing to hide you shouldn't fear ID cards, I would say look at the track record of the government. They ae not going to be able to protect us from the terrorism that their own foreign interference has brought upon us by insisting that our freedoms are curtailed ever further. After all, ID cards didn't prevent 9/11 or the Madrid bombings.

There is a mean-minded paranoid atmospehere in this country nowadays, and we should not allow tinpot dictators to destroy our way of life. In anycase, if fake cards can be made for the ludicrous woman who masquerades as Home Secretary, what is the point of making we hoipolloi have them?

Grow up Labour and give up on your dreams of imposing Soviet-style way of life on us. We won't have it.
