David's Show of Outrage

Published: Friday June 20,2008 by Tiff

I'm probably one of the thousands of ordinary men in the street who are missing his point.

So, DD resigns his seat in protest about the bad deeds of this disreputable government. Fine, if he were a Labour MP or a Tory MP intent of re-standing as an independent. But he is doing neither. He has resigned and is re-standing as a Tory MP again. What on earth does this prove?
He will get re-elected as the Tory MP with a large vote, of course but it wasn't a seat so difficult to lose in the first place, so what point is he making? Does anyone have an answer? Does he have the answer, I wonder? It might explain why he did not win the leadership contest though.
