How can anybody support this idiot. David Davis prattles on about civil liberties and human rights.

What’s wrong with taking everybody’s DNA at birth? Eventually a meaningful data base would be compiled which really would aid in the solving and reduction of crime and preventing benefit fraud. I know of nobody who objects to having their DNA on file, the vast majority see the benefits of being able to immediately identify suspects. If this technology had been available in the past most serial killers and rapists would have been apprehended much sooner.

What’s wrong with CCTV cameras?, in many areas they reduce crime and actively prevent muggings they certainly help in identifying culprits.

Those against these measures are either criminals or are fortunate enough, like David Davis, to live in very low crime areas, or perhaps are rich enough to pay for their own security, they certainly don’t frequent areas where the majority of the population live.

What’s wrong with detaining suspected terrorists for up to 42 days? It’s hardly a life sentence. So only 50% of terror suspects are eventually charged surely it follows that the other 50% had criminal intent. Why don’t we consider the consequences of releasing the guilty rather than the human rights of the very few who will be detained, if the detention is later considered unreasonable they will be compensated anyway.

Why is my security less important than the human rights of those who continually spout hatred stir up social unrest.

Give it up Davis you are totally out of touch.
