What does all this 'deserve' mean?

They get paid a salary,the rest of us have to manage,why have such plush 'second homes' did the first get so much money spent on them?
Are they trying to tell us that they work hard and 'deserve' all they can get, well that is debatable looking at the state this country has got in since they took over..
There are a darn sight more people out here work hard for much less.
Do they have regular work appraials to see if they are worth all they get and pay increases justified? Happens in the real world
