What is the point?

As a serving police officer i find this story beyond abhorrent.

An Englishman's home is his castle. Well it now appears that an Englishman's home is a free-house to all who want to take a shot at getting themselves the next fix.

Does it surprise anyone that Labour is looking for a way to cop-out of doing the right thing for the sake of saving a couple of quid here or there? (just think, £28k to furnish your second home next year) Burglary is set to become a major problem for the UK, i should know i work on a dedicated burglary team.

It is no longer a case that one person could be responsible for numerous offences, such is the leniency already. People do not see a threat to their liberty in destroying other people's sanctity and so there is no deterrant for the commission of the offence. Burglary carries up to 14 years imprisonment FFS! How can you trivialise it to the point where effectively the victim doesn't even matter?! Does this mean the chap who brutally stabbed and tortured two French students will be spared prison? Many people fail to realise that burglary covers a range of instances. The common cause is to steal. However you commit the offence should you enter a premises as a tresspasser with the intent to rape, inflict GBH or cause damage. Would you want someone intending to come into your home to commit those offences to walk free?

This is the price of keeping this government in power. A further denigration of the people THEY serve. The sooner the electorate grow the balls to call a vote of no confidence in Gordon and his free-loading, self important, condescending (remember Ed Balls shouting 'So what?!; because the average Britain has been persistantly finacially raped by GB?) arrogant and out of touch cronies the better.
