The euro is coming!!

Don't hold your breath, Merit. This ignominious Government has already reneged on one promised referendum. Also the Treaty of Lisbon contains a clause which says that the Currency of the European Union is the euro. As it is self-amending, there will be no need to refer changes back to national parliaments.
The £ is holding steady against the US$ but is sliding against the euro. I am sure it is being allowed to reach parity with the euro to make it easier to 'sell' to the British public. Remember, originally the euro was worth around 66p - it is now worth 80p!
