stock market fluctuations

Typical of the media to start scare stories on pensions. These black holes you are referring to are due to the recent dips in the stock market. Investing in the stock market is a long term commitment where you look at the value over say five years or more.
We know the Govt. has dipped into private pension funds so that they can give away loads of cash to places like India (where there are more millionaires than in the UK) or pump it into the EU where is disappears without trace.
Nothing will change until we get rid of this Govt. and get out of the EU.
