Family history researchers, and just the curious, should also know that this information is available free of charge at http://freebmd.rootsweb.com.

FreeBMD has not yet completed the full transcribing and automating for events after the 1920s or so, but it is moving along apace.

Ancestry's service is a subscription service and paying users also have access to other records. But for births, marriages and deaths from 1837 to the early 20th century, and before long up to the early 21st century, there is no need to pay, when the wonderful volunteers of FreeBMD have worked so hard to make this information available to the public.
