Tories back out of EU referendum as Lisbon Treaty is ratified

THE Tory leadership tonight conceded defeat over their plans to hold a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.

TORIES GET THEIR WAY DESPITE THE SMOKE SCREEN AND MIRRORS

04.11.09, 3:31pm

The Con Party funded the YES vote when the Irish people were first given a referendum on signing up to the Lisbon Treaty. Don't believe all the bull that 'pass the privilege' Dave spouts about trying to stop the Lisbon Treaty. They wanted it! They are all liars who milk decent hard working Britains of their wealth by over taxation to give to a non elected entity called the EU commission. Where's the money boys?
Politicians just want a snout in the EU gravy train, that's why they're so intent on f**king us over to get there.
They don't speak for me.

WHO IS MISSING THE POINT?

04.11.09, 2:02pm

A "NO" referendum win would mean nothing now!
ALL parties have signed the treaty. We know the result of the referendum already, "NO to Lisbon!!"
But the Lisbon treaty has been enacted; the train has left the station; the plane has taken off. We cannot now prevent the take off of the Lisbon Treaty can we?
The Tories had hope the Chechs would not be as easily bribed as they were. Because of their weak leadership, they have failed us and their leaders have failed their people too. The Lisbon Treaty train has indeed left the Station and it is full stream ahead.
Let's hope it can be stopped or that we can get off anywhere we wish.
Wait until Dave has spoken about this before you start condemning him.

TORIES BACK OUT OF EU REFERENDUM

04.11.09, 12:16am

Mr Hague

Challenge David Cameron, and back Britain, or lose my vote. I have voted Conservative since the age of eighteen, in 1968.

But Cameron, has lied, just like Blair and Brown, I want Britain back.

I will now vote UKIP or BNP.

LYING CON PARTY

03.11.09, 11:34pm

Cameron & Hague: what part of democracy are you too stupid - or rather deceptive - to understand??? You give the pretense of supporting democracy, but once again - as with the MP expenses scandal - your actions BETRAY your empty rhetoric, or rather more bluntly, LIES. Prove me wrong with your ACTIONS, not words.
We, the majority of the British people, DEMAND a referendum on the EU, you have NO choice but to let us have one, else you are frauds of democracy.
If the rest of the EU wants to continue with an European superstate, we don't have to be part of it. And wait till Turkey is admitted, as well as the north Africa states...

Dont lose confidence, the last thing we need is Liebour winning because some fools think it will make a difference voting ukip.

TORIES BACK OUT OF EU REFERENDUM AS LISBON TREATY IS RATIFIED

03.11.09, 10:19pm

We are holding our referendum when ever the next GENERAL ELECTION is held, Mr Hague. We are only voting for a Party that wants OUT of the EU. We have been told often enough all we have to do to get out of the EU is to repeal the European Communities Act 1972. Or, we can deliberately repudiate the Treaties as per Lord Denning. The people can hang on to their money and none of you will get paid and neither will the EU get its Contributions either.

We have foolishly, ever since 1972 voted for political Parties that have always wanted to remain in the EU.

We have been given a choice of THREE Political Parties that all want the same. For Foreigners to do the job of Governing while our MP's pick up the money and vast expenses as if THEY are doing it.

Well none of us can get away with that because it rather looks like "taking money under false pretenses" doesn't it?

Winston Churchill drew all the people together. The people all worked together. It was in the interests of the Government to do so to save our country. NOW THE PEOPLE AND THE COUNTRY ARE TO BE DIVIDED, NO MATTER WHICH OF THE THREE MAJOR POLITICAL PARTIES YOU VOTE FOR, or where you place your cross, if you place your vote against any one of the three major political Parties, you will remain in the EU. Not voting though, is not an option this next time, it really isn't. Make your vote count.

Give your vote to a political Party that wants out of the EU, that wants its own Government to Govern with laws and constitution that suit this country best. NO, I AM NOT IN ANY POLITICAL PARTY OR ORGANISATION. Only vote for one of the three major Parties if you want to remain in the EU. This may well be your last chance through a referendum cum election. The present MP's and Government have had their chance, it is time to oust them and let THEM see what it is like to try to get a "proper job".

SO THERE WE HAVE IT....

03.11.09, 9:46pm

........we are tied into the United States of Europe wether we want it or not. The Government has shot itself in the foot because soon there will be a vote from the US of E stating that they are disolving Governments and every Country will be controlled by the US of E, and there will be 'US of E Embassies in every country to make sure we are obeying their laws. Our Banks, Education, Crime, Industry, Agriculture, Tourism, Health, Fishing everything will be taken out of our hands, we will no longer have any say in our every day lives, just like Communist/Socialist Countries. I just hope that Blair and Brown can live wth themselves. over what they have done to a once great Country.

LISBON TREATY

03.11.09, 9:25pm

To say they conceded defeat is a joke,Cameron and Hague never had any intention of holding a referendum,I thought this before today and now it has been confirmed,I voted against the common market in the 1970's when Heath and Wilson coned people, now I am not going to get a vote at all, it would appear that Brown and company have signed away my birth right and the tory party agree's with them, what is worse a large part of the electorate could not care less

LISBON TREATY

03.11.09, 8:41pm

The Lisbon Treaty is now done and dusted, and hopefully the Tory Party will tear itself apart, good, the cave men of the Tory right wing will be just a bad memory. It remains to be seen now how the Tory press reacts, will they speak in the best interests for the future of our nation,or will they speak in the best interests of their circulation figures. No prizes for the correct answer. The unbiased truth is a rare bird. SURPRISE SURPRISE

03.11.09, 8:12pm

I am astonished that anyone believed this lying toad in the first place. There should be a vote, in or out of Europe; the UK is teetering on the destruction of our national identity. For god sake vote BNP.
