WE NEEDN'T PAY TAX.

08.05.08, 3:30pm

Why don't we just work and be given food vouchers instead of wages which is only taken back from us in taxes. It must be cheaper and easier for the government that way.

BAD NEWS.

08.05.08, 2:48am

The bad news is folks that Godron (Mugabe) Broon and his cronies in Nulabour through their squandering ways and their manic need for control through taxation and dictatorial legislation, have managed to return the masses to a time in history where serfdom is just around the corner.
It does not matter what happens to this decadent political party the damage caused will take a lifetime to recover from, for the everyday person in the street.
As Chancellor he has burdened people with debt of amazing proportion both personal debt and collective debt as a nation.
It matters not whom replaces him individually or if another political party eventually replaces NuLabour (that’s a joke) the nation has been burdened Mugabe style for years to come.

Put another way GoDron (Mugabe) Broon has achieved a great victory for the past ills the English may have inflicted on the Scots and has done it without shedding a drop of blood..
But alas the mental agony for the millions in debt brought about by twelve years of pernicious taxation and tyranical law making will more than balance the debt.

CRIPPLING TAXES

08.05.08, 12:00am

They won't stop taxing the worker into poverty.
They need the money, to pay the idle and spongers of society.

And, I nearly forgot, to give all MP's a 25% pay rise.

It is time we took to the streets in protest, instead of posting these messages.

BULLET PROOF PM

07.05.08, 10:10pm

The PM does not need to be popular any more. It's now irrelivant. He will get a tonne of new laws and taxes through then hand the batton over to the Conservatives who will simply continue. Obviously they will give jolly good reasons why they 'must meet Britains commitments' which are a legacy of umpteen years of Labour.

Tories will U turn.

No sorry I disagree with my self (I am that argumentiitive). They will support the poor by giving MASSIVE tax credits. These will not be bebifits, they will be expected to justify them at the end of each year and any overpayment will need immediate repayment. Therefore we will at first applaud the Tories, but 12 months later we will see what they did to us.

TOO LITTLE TOO LATE

07.05.08, 6:59pm

It doesnt matter now what this useless mal administration promises, and yes there will certainly be some little tit bits to soften us up for the next election. But it will all be in vain. This government has plagued us all with overspending and poor administration that has cost us all very dear. As a country we are heading for disaster and as individuals we are all heading for financial ruin, poor services and being constantly taken for a ride by corrupt politicians.
I for one have had enough and no matter what Mr Brown and his fogeys promise I will not belive. A government without mandate and a daming vote of no confidence from the public, how long will he have the audacity to cling on?

£300 million lost to benefit cheats
£1.5 billion on legal aid to immigrants
£30 million detention costs
£38 million on work permits to immigrants
£6.1 million on new detention centres

Try questioning Brown on some of these figures
AND HE WAN'TS MORE TAXES TO SPEND ON THE ABOVE?

HOUSEHOLD BILLS ONLY SWALLOW UP 31%??????

07.05.08, 5:46pm

Cost of paying utilities , mortgage, household bills etc swallowed up, up from 25% to 31% !?!?!?

What planet are these people on. I have never known mine or anyone else come to that who has 50% let alone 69% -75% of their income left after paying household bills. MP's would but not the average man in the street. MP's MUST HAVE 100% OF THEIR INCOME LEFT AFTER WE PAY ALL OF THEIR EXPENSES.

How lovely that would be if we all had half of our income left to spend as we like. No wonder Gordon thinks there's plenty of room left to tax us yet.

THE ONLY THING BROWN NEEDS TO DO IS RESIGN

07.05.08, 4:53pm

"Astonishingly, Mr Brown is said to have shrugged off the concern and remained inexplicably upbeat about Labour’s prospects – despite last week’s local election drubbing."
---------------------------------------------------------
Yes, this is precisely the problem.
This unelected and immensely unpopular PM is so convinced that he is superman and knows all the answers that he dismisses everything ANYONE else says, even his party colleagues.
And that is why he has to go.
It is absolutely a fact that most of the working population are sick up to here with relentless punishing taxes on top of more punishing taxes.

TAXED TO THE HILT!

07.05.08, 3:39pm

GOVERNMENT THE MAIN CULPRIT!

With the oil price at near-record highs and Shell and BP declaring record profits last week, there are various truckloads of drivel about the oil majors being ruthless profiteers doing the rounds at the moment. But who’s really raking in the money?

Let’s start with a multiple-choice question.

With the oil price above $100 a barrel, who makes the most money out of a gallon of petrol at the pump? Is it:

A. Greedy oil companies.
B. Greedy Opec members.
C. Our glorious Government.

You don’t really answer to that, do you?

Who makes all the money from petrol? Well, something like 75% of the price you pay at the pump makes its way to whichever hard drive our government currently keeps its coffers in. Then of course those record profits that BP and Shell declared will mean record levels of juicy corporate tax.

Then there are those nice, taxable dividends that are being paid out to shareholders. And those thousands - or is it millions? - of people that BP and Shell employ all pay lovely income tax and NI. Then there’s tax on all the money the refiners make, and the explorers, and the transporters, and the traders and the petrochemical companies …

Yet the government still runs record budget deficits.
