PROFIT NOW A CORRUPT WORD

14.05.08, 7:39am

It’s all about profit for the fat cats and shareholders. All of these companies, many now foreign owned should be Government owned, for the people, and for the benefit of the people. De nationalisation should never have happened, but again it’s all about profits for the few.

ITS PEAK OIL TIME

13.05.08, 5:09pm

Get shut of the eu - - stop ALL payments immediately - All pensioners with an excellent record of working don't pay ANY poll tax and are given a small nominal fixed amount to pay for electric and gas - free bus passes and no taxes on whatever pensions they have. No taxes on ANYBODY's pensions - and Comrade Brown to give back the £5 BILLION a year he's still stealing from the pensions funds.

What happened to people power? If we all get cut off by Gas and Electric companies - who are they going to sell it to? Where is any income then to come from?

Take back ALL utilities owned by foreign companies - and STOP paying them obscene amounts when the leaks aren't fixed.

WHEN OIL HITS $200 A BARREL LATER THIS YEAR - AND ENERGY BILLS GO UP ANOTHER 46% ON TOP OF THIS PROJECTED INCREASE, WE MAY AS WELL ALL CURL UP AND DIE

13.05.08, 2:37pm

Dictator Prudence U-Turn Brown could NOT CARE LESS that old people are dying in their homes, because they cannot afford to eat and heat their main room.

I bet Gormless Brown has the heating on full blast in his TWO homes - and Tony Blair will have plenty of heating in his FOUR HOMES.

Keep pushing your luck Dictator Prudence U-Turn Brown - every dog has its day.

NATIONALISE ALL THE SERVICES

13.05.08, 10:14am

Many years ago as our services were sold off the dissenters all shouted,
"our old will be cold in the winter",
"our poor will not be able to heat their houses",
"Our children will suffer".
" These companies will make huge profits from the suffering of others".

They were all told don't be ridiculous can you see a government allowing these companies making so much profit that people will suffer.

They laughed at the fact that it was possible for energy companies to make billions of pounds from the poor of our country.

SOLUTION

13.05.08, 9:58am

The solution is twofold.

First, the government must cut way back on public spending - which they won't, because they are addicted to it, and so are the Tories.

Second, having done so they should spend the money in three ways - tax cuts to benefit low income families, winter fuel payments to pensioners and people on benefits, and on paying housing associations to ensure that as many homes as possible have double glazing.

Instead of the above, our morally bankrupt politicians will make sure that they have enough money to pay to keep both of their two homes warm.

CATASTROPHE FOR THE ELDERLY

13.05.08, 8:38am

A recent Channel 4 documentary showed the disgraceful plight of many pensioners unable to pay their energy bills. When we factor in further anticipated price hikes we are surely looking at a national disaster. We need to hear strident calls for action from Chief Executives of the Chariities concerned. The escalating cost of food must also be taken into account. I sometimes think that the Daily Express is the only effective opposition in this country.
