CONVINCED

14.05.08, 2:05pm

I'm now convinced that Mickey Mouse is wearing an Alistair Darling wrist watch. Must admit I feel sorry for Darling, he hasn't realized he's being setup as the fall guy for chaos & mismanagement of the previous Chancellor over the past eleven years; now in the disguise of a Prime Minister, pulling the strings of his new puppet in the belief that nobody will notice. They are a joke beyond belief; and should shut down their circus and move to another area on another planet

ABYSMAL.

14.05.08, 12:54pm

Step back to a period in time of less than three whole (an epoch in political terms) weeks or so. There were booming headlines regarding the dispute at the Grangemouth Oil Refinery.
The knee jerk reaction was that GoDron and the altar boys at the Treasury were set to make an additional £10.7miilion a day from this episode which, was short lived compared to the incredible bull run the oil market is in.
Now we all know oil is going through the roof on a daily basis, it will continue to do so for the foreseeable future and no one knows where it will begin to stabilise.
So a simple observation, noting the result of what was a storm in a teacup with the Grangemouth affair and using the £10.7million/day as the bottom line guaranteed contribution to the coffers of the treasury every time oil moves North, It appears in simple terms in approximately 250 days or so this gracious offering will have been paid for itself thanks to the generosity of the Great British Public.
Talk about a sucker punch and that's exactly what it is. NuLabour have delivered another abysmal scenario of complete deceit.
Abysmal ain't it.

DARLING UNVEILS HIS £2.7BN TAX GIMMICK

14.05.08, 12:42pm

No matter what he does - 'in a desperate bid to save Gordon Brown’s premiership' - it won't be of any consolation whatsoever, to those who get no help, nor will it help in the long run, if it's a one off bribe.

Face it, they're more concerned with saving the moronic 'government' than saving the country and the taxpayer.

THE BRIBE MINISTER

14.05.08, 11:37am

Some people will buy it, but it is the tax payer that will have to pay it back, sooner or later!
GORMLESS GORDON, WE ARE NOT FOOLED,JUST GO NOW BEFORE YOU HUMILIATE YOUR SELF EVEN MORE.

PAH!

14.05.08, 11:19am

I can't even begin to find words to describe what I think of this latest gimmick!

A better solution would have been if NuLab hadn't bogged up the economy in the first place, and hadn't scrapped the 10p rate. There'd be no need for this shambles.

As PaulH as said, some gullible people will buy it completely.

It's a BRIBE. Nothing more. They give with one hand, but read the small print.....they take with the other.

'WE WON'??!

14.05.08, 11:12am

Wait till the stealth and not so stealth taxes come back with a vengeance after the N&C election. How else can Brown pay for this black hole he has created.
This is a cheap gimmick of a desperate government in its last throes.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE

14.05.08, 10:22am

We won!

Just by refusing to vote for them.

Its amazing what a voter's strike can achieve from a weak and desperate government.

Keep up the good work everyone. There is still a lot to do.
