EYEBROWS were raised when Martin Scorsese said he wanted to cast his golden boy Leonardo DiCaprio – not known for his vocal dexterity – as smooth crooner Frank Sinatra.

The director is planning an as yet untitled biopic of the late singer and is determined that Leo, 36, whom he has worked with in four films, plays him.

But it seems the Titanic and Inception star, who has no singing experience, is aware of his limitations. “I don’t think I’m a very good singer,” he tells Day & Night. “I’m prepared to have training.”

This is music to Scorsese’s ears. “It’s always a blessing to work with Leo,” he gushes. “Whatever I ask him to do, he can handle it. The opportunity to work with him really keeps me interested in making movies.”
