Sir Elton John to duette with Engelbert Humperdinck
SIR ELTON JOHN has duetted with some of music’s biggest names including George Michael and Kiki Dee. Now the 65-year-old has teamed up with crooner Engelbert Humperdinck for a new track to be released next year.
Engelbert, 76, who represented the UK at Eurovision last May, has enlisted Elton to sing on his latest recording.
“This album is a true labour of love. We have a few more recordings to go but what a cast,” Engelbert enthused to Day & Night.
“I’m keeping most of it under my hat but was so excited about working with Elton, who I have admired ever since first hearing him, that I couldn’t keep it to myself.”
Sir Elton revealed that although it is 45 years since Engelbert’s chart topper Release Me, the singer is still on form.
“We had a great time singing together and he is so quick, what I call a ‘one-take singer’ – 76 years old and still sounding as good as ever.”
