ROYWORLD: MAN IN THE MACHINES

Wednesday May 14,2008

By Emily Garnham for express.co.uk

HATS OFF to Royworld, responsible for creating 12 euphoric anthems that will no doubt be blasted from every car radio this summer.

It’s catchy, chilled out pop with a satisfying build and climax in every track and it doesn’t come close to cheesy.

Man In The Machines opens with hooky road trip anthem Elasticity – windows down, wind through the hair stuff.

But track four Brakes is the catchiest tune of the lot – I challenge you not to have the lyrics “Put on Your Brakes, Yeaaaaaah” in your head all day.

***BUY THIS CD NOW!***

Billed as “an eccentric brand of indie-pop” Royworld are named after a disused Welsh Bowling Alley.

Their excuse is “We are absurd people, life is absurd so we wanted an absurd name.”

Eccentric and absurd may be how Royworld see themselves but their music suggests otherwise.

This is my premature album of the summer and it’s only a matter of time before the radio stations catch on. Buy it now.

OUR VERDICT: 5/5
