JOHANSSON has teamed up with producer David Sitek and assorted musicians and heads for Louisiana to record an album of Tom Waits covers.

The result is an absorbing meditation on her native New York, with the star deadpanning Nico-style over shimmering veils of sound.

She remakes Waits in her own image but preserves his spirit.
