STEPHANO OKAKA TO BE HIT NOT MISS

ON LOAN: Stefano Okaka

Friday February 5,2010

By Frank Wiechula

JONATHAN GREENING has backed newcomer Stefano Okaka to make a Premier League impact despite the Roma loan signing marking his Fulham debut with a contender for miss of the season.

Stefano Okaka nodded wide of an open goal from two yards against Portsmouth on Wednesday, but Greening spared Okaka’s blushes with his first Fulham goal to end a run of five league defeats.  Greening said: “He was very unlucky with the header.

“I probably should have scored myself, I actually went for goal and it went to him. He doesn’t speak much English, so the more his English improves the better it will be for him and for us.

“It’s difficult coming to a new country and he has only trained one day. He’s a strong boy and did really well.”
