Marks and Spencer, Waitrose and Coop issue emergency food warning - 'do not consume'

The Food Standards Agency urged customers to return the products and "do not eat" them.

has recalled the M&S Plant Kitchen Mushroom Pie because of "undeclared soya". The product contains soya and is not mentioned on the label, which is a possible health risk for people with an allergy.

The Food Standards Agency issued a statement saying: "If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to soya, do not eat it.

"Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund. For more information contact Marks and Spencer customer care on 0333 0148 555."

M&S added: "Customer safety is of paramount importance to Marks and Spencer and we take all issues regarding the production of our food extremely seriously. Please do not consume this product if you have an allergy or intolerance to soya."

The Food Standards Agency recommended: "If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund. For more information contact Waitrose customer care team on 0800 188 884, Option 4."
