1. Baking soda

The expert said: “ works very well on moss. However, this method works best on dry days.

2. Pressure washer

Pressure washers are great when it comes to cleaning the driveway as well as removing moss.

Simply spray the affected areas with high-pressure water using the pressure washer. The pro noted: “This is a great way to blast away all of the moss and clean your paving.”

Be careful not to use very strong pressure as it could damage paving slabs.

Pressure washers can be picked up for as little as £15 on sites such as Amazon.

3. Boiling water

Gregory explained: “Carefully pour boiling water over the mossy area, being sure to cover every part of it.

“Then, scrub the affected areas using a stiff brush. Once the moss is loose, you can then use a hose to wash away the debris.”

Boiling water also works great on any driveway weeds which may be cropping up at this time of year too.

The temperature of boiling water will collapse the plant’s cell structure and kill it instantly and for good.

Some hardy weeds may need more than one boiling water treatment, but make sure to never use it near other plants.

4. Vinegar and water

The expert continued: “If you have stubborn moss marks on your paving, consider using water and vinegar to remove them.

“Create a mixture consisting of one part white vinegar and one part water. Place this mixture in a spray bottle so you can easily apply the mixture over the entire area.

“Spray the mixture over the affected area and leave it to sit there. Then, scrub the space with a stiff brush before hosing it off.

“As you can see, there are several methods for cleaning a driveway.

“Take a look at the details above and choose a method which would work best for you. It’s important to keep in mind the material of your driveway when choosing the best option.”
