The study revealed the naughty details of women's holiday habits

A study has revealed the naughty details of women’s holiday habits.

This comes after an olympic runner became famed for her hip thrusting warm ups.

And it turns out more than half of women regularly take a sex toy with them when they jet away.

A whopping 85 per cent of women surveyed admitted to packing something naughty to take on holiday with them at least once.

Lingerie retailer Ann Summers carried out the research which also found out the exact items women make sure to pack.

Vibrators are a popular choice, as 39 per cenotaph women said they’d always take theirs’ when visiting Europe.

Even more risqué items were surprisingly common, with five per cent admitting taking a whip, and a few others even revealed they would pack a strap-on.

Sexual health was also high on the cards, with 48 per cent of woman making room in their suitcase for condoms.

When it comes to bag checks at the airport, one in four admitted to being embarrassed as their favourite toys passed through airport security.

A further one in ten have even had vibrators and lube discovered after their bags were searched.

Several other respondents also revealed they had their sexy underwear and toys found and moved by hotel chambermaids.

Jack Wright, from Halifax, had an embarrassing encounter when he was flying out to visit his girlfriend in Barcelona.

He admitted: “I was only taking hand luggage and she asked me to bring her love eggs along, so I put them in the bag without thinking.

Vibrators are apparently a popular choice

“When I got to airport security they asked if I had any electronic devices, of course not thinking, I said no.

“They then asked me to go into a room while they got everything out and asked what they were.

“I went a lovely shade of red and explained.

“They laughed at mean said they should have been scanned along with my laptop at least I will know next time.”

It’s not just holidaymakers that are left cringing though, as those who work in the hospitality industry have seen a fair few sights that would make you blush.

Jessica McDonnell, a 25-year-old marketing executive from Huddersfield also used to work as a hotel chambermaid for four years where she too saw some interesting sights.

She revealed: “Working as a chambermaid definitely meant I saw lots of things people probably wished I hadn’t - myself included.

Remember to declare our vibrator as an electrical item if you're taking it abroad

“One memory that stands out in particular was when I walked into a room to discover several sex toys all lined up neatly on the bed accompanied by some lubricant and flowers - someone was clearly trying to encourage some romance that night.

“However, the most embarrassing encounter I ever faced has to be when I walked in to find a couple actually having sex. I did knock four times and they were so quiet I assumed no-one was in. They walked past me later on that day looking very refaced and I was left cringing for days after.”

Looking at the types of holidays women are smuggling their toys along, one in five would happily take a toy on a girls’ getaway, but 16 per cent of women claim to have even taken one along with them on a family trip.

And apparently no part of the globe is too far, with 40 per cent of women taking theirs’ to Spain and more than a third to France. Greece and Ibiza also proved popular with 13 per cent and 9 per cent of women taking theirs’ along, while other exotic and erotic destinations included Australia, with seven per cent, and Vietnam and New Zealand.

An Ann Summers spokesperson said: “It’s a well-known fact that Brits love to have a good time on holiday, and our survey just demonstrates the range of pleasurable items women are taking with them on their travels.

“Sex toys are a great way to spice up your life while abroad whether it’s with your existing partner, a holiday romance or just to help you enjoy your time alone that little bit more. It’s worth knowing if you take your vibrator abroad, you might need to declare it’s electrical item.”
