The stunning smartphone boasts a dual-curved 5.7inch Quad-HD Super AMOLED display, 12MP Dual Pixel camera,  iris scanner and next-generation S Pen stylus which lets you jot notes on the screen when it is switched off.

PhoneBuff have put together a speed test between the two flagship devices. And it reveals one very clear winner.

Although both smartphones start with a similar pace, the iPhone soon pulls ahead.

Previous studies have shown iOS to be almost twice as efficient as Android, thanks to a process called garbage collection that hampers the Java-based apps that run on Android.

Garbage collection involves RAM being recycled once applications are finished with it. This does not affect iOS because it was built from the ground-up to avoid this process.

This latest speed test reveals that running through a few commonly-used apps can take up to one minute longer on the Note 7 than the iPhone 6S.

That's a monumental difference.

, it will be interesting to see how Samsung's latest phablet compares to the 2016 Apple flagship.

Apple is expected to unveil its next generation iPhone 7 in September which could include an even faster processor, upgraded display and better camera.

There's also plenty of rumours suggesting it will be waterproof and feature a new way to connect your headphones.
