The royals were chatting with the likes of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Stephen Fry as they attended the second Ashes test at Lord's on Saturday.

Body language expert Inbaal Honigman said the sweet interaction between William and George showed the youngster's poise and maturity, appearing "older than his years".

She told the Daily Star: "George appears older than his years. We don't see any fidgeting, he's sitting patiently, watching and chatting."

She added that the young prince's reactions to his surroundings showed him "fully engaged with the environment around him".

Another body language specialist Adrianne Carter added that George's previous self-conscious behaviour in public has now transformed into a new level of confidence.

She said: "William comes across as a hands-on parent and willing to take the time to spend with his oldest son one on one. He wants to show a close bond to the world.

"In this clip we see a confident boy growing and being calm under scrutiny. In some clips at previous events, George can often look self-conscious but we don’t see any of that in this clip."

The young prince was even given a replica of the Ashes urn, which he looked particularly chuffed with as his father held it out to him.

Despite him being dressed smartly in a shirt jacket, some fans on social media noticed that one item seemed to be missing from his outfit.

Royal fans complained on Twitter that George needed a pair of sunglasses as he squinted while watching the game.

One wrote on social media: "Prince George needs some sunglasses, he is screwing up his eyes, sunshine is too strong."
