Expert claims Meghan Markle would have it 'much worse' in photo row as UK is 'team Kate'

A PR expert has claimed the British public are in favour of Princess Kate and would criticise Meghan Markle more if she was at the centre of a similar photo editing fiasco.

Princess Kate has been at the centre of controversy after Kensington Palace released a picture on Mother's Day featuring her and her children,

The future Queen - who is still recovering from her planned abdominal surgery back in January - , however, the incident sparked concerns over the editing of photos released by the royals.

Now PR expert Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR defended Prince Harry's wife as she touched down on the subject.

She told the Mirror: "Had the photo scandal happened to Meghan Markle, would have been treated much worse, especially in the UK.

"Most photos are edited before they reach the public, especially in terms of lighting and colouring. Meghan herself has previously been accused of editing the official press pictures."

The expert also recalled how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were "accused of altering their 2019 Christmas card featuring their young son Archie" as "fans thought that the adorable photo of the couple with their eldest son may have been edited because Meghan's face was in sharp focus, despite the fact she was in the back of the photo".

She added: "However, Meghan’s pal who took the photo, Janina Gavankar, shared the original frame on her Instagram account - which appeared to be exactly the same photo as the latter.

"Meghan will always get knocked more than Kate for whatever she does as the British public certainly are team Kate."

It comes as the Sussex couple yesterday issued a statement denying that they were behind comments that appeared to criticise Princess Kate for the photo editing blunder.

Page Six ran quotes from a source "close to Prince William, Harry and his wife" stating that the editing error "isn't a mistake Meghan would ever make", as "she has a keen eye and freakish attention to detail".

But Archewell's official spokesperson has now insisted to Newsweek that the comments "did not come from us", stating simply: "With respect to Page Six, that did not come from us."
