Prince Harry showed "major nerves" on his wedding day to Meghan Markle in 2018, an expert has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary today, with one body language expert reminiscing on how Harry appeared to feel as prepared to say 'I do'.

Body language expert Darren Stanton has said that although Meghan looked "confident", Harry showed signs of nervousness with "face flushing" and "a few nervous smiles".

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Live Casino, he said: "[Prince] Harry was feeling nervous on his wedding day. He displayed a few nervous smiles, but they were portraying genuine emotion."

He added: "He tried to convey confidence, but his nerves took control. When he was waiting at the altar with William, you could see his face flushing, as his cheeks went red. But when Meghan arrived, he was more relaxed and could be more at ease with himself."

Unlike her then-husband-to-be, Meghan appeared "calm" as she walked down the aisle to greet Harry, as reported by the Mirror.

Mr Stanton added: "Meghan was calm and confident on her wedding day with no nervousness. She was very collected and everything seemed to fall into place as she arrived.

"She took the lead and had a lot of control. Her posture was aligned, she held her head high and her smiles were fully engaged.

"These are all signs of feeling at peace and confident about themselves. Meghan puts Harry at his ease."

The couple have since welcomed two children - Archie, five, and Lilibet, two. The couple stepped down as senior working royals at the start of 2020 - less than two years after their wedding day - and now reside in the US with their children.
