Famous city’s £430m mega-project to build its own Big Ben but four times taller
The enormous clock tower will stand at over 1,476 feet making it the second-tallest of its kind in the world.
Move over Big Ben, here's Big Franck, the enormous 450-metre new clock tower building that is set to be completed in Dubai - with apartments inside starting at around £340,000.
The £430million Franck Muller Aeternitas building is just over four-and-a-half times taller than Big Ben and is being constructed in a partnership between a watchmaker and a real estate firm.
Swiss luxury watch manufacturer Franck Muller and property developers London Gate have joined forces for the exciting project which features a Muller clock face at the top of the tower.
According to UAE newspaper, The National, the clock face will measure 130 feet by 90 feet and feature a timepiece built in Germany. The same firm built the clock for the world's tallest clock tower in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The publication reports the Aeternitas building will have "649 one, two and three-bedroom apartments" as well as "duplexes called Sky Mansions and Sky villas, spread over 106 floors".
Franck Muller Aeternitas will come with luxury amenities, including a Zen garden, private cinema, cigar lounge, library, spa, yoga room and 24/7 concierge services.
Announcing the building on the Franck Muller website, Erol Baliyan, managing director of Franck Muller MEA, said: "We are delighted to expand in the Middle East with this unprecedented partnership with London Gate.
"We have been strategically exploring the branded residential market in the UAE to bring the heritage of brand excellence to the realm of real estate."
He added: "We are glad to find the right partner with a reputed realtor like London Gate who shares our brand vision and believes in the values of Franck Muller.
