TREATMENTS TESTED

Full Body Massage, 60 minutes, £65

Having chosen one of the essential oils to match my relaxed mood the therapist started massaging my shoulders and back. After getting all the knots out she moved down my body to my toes before turning me over to start on my front. I could feel my muscles loosen as she worked out the tension which left me feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. My skin felt soft and moisturised for days.

Speedy Facial, 30 minutes, £38

Using raspberry seed aromatherapy oil the therapist massaged the relaxation points on my forehead and around the eye area to ease congestion. She then cleansed my face and applied a hot towel to steam my skin before exfoliating and steaming a second time to deep cleanse pores. My face was glowing after the treatment.

GOOD POINTS

Picturesque surroundings, delicious food, friendly staff, relaxing treatments using natural products and beautiful rooms.

BAD POINTS

The Cowshed Spa is separate from the main house which means you have to walk outside for treatments – not ideal when it’s cold or wet.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

From £12 for a brow tint to £300 for soak, massage and facial for two people.
