Mini buses and car loads of Ibrox supporters , desperate to get their hands on the precious briefs for Sunday's Championship decider , descended on the stadium despite the club's 5,500 allocation having already been sold out.

Police were summoned to the ground when some disappointed and disgruntled fans turned abusive and demanded access to the "home" sections of the ground which are still available for this weekend .

But last night United Chairman Stephen Thompson insisted the few hundred remaining would all go to Arab fans and warned "lucky" Rangers supporters who already had the gold dust "passes" that there would be " no repeat " of last season's Title winning scenes after Celtic secured the Championship on Tayside.

Back then,Tannadice officials handed over the stadium to Celtic allowing them control of the PA system as they celebrated three League Flags in a row with a 1-0 win over their hosts.

But the gesture backfired with thousands of pounds worth of damage caused by over exuberant visitors and locals complaining that their ground had been turned into Parkhead .

" We have taken steps to ensure there will be no repeat this time , should Rangers win the Title one way or another." declared Thompson

" Members of our office staff have taken a lot of abuse in the last few days which forced us to call the police and we simply don't want any hassle on Sunday no matter how the result goes.

" We made a mistake last year by more or less letting Celtic take over the stadium which caused problems so we are being strict this weekend and have informed the SPL to stress to everyone that it is our stadium and we will be in control.

" If Rangers clinch the Championship then they will be presented with the trophy and no doubt enjoy the usual celebrations but there will be no blasting of songs and the like over our PA system and fans will be asked to remain in their seats and respect our stadium.

" Some people seem to forget that this is an important match for us as well and also our 100th birthday. We are aiming for a Europa LEague place and want as many of our own people here as possible.
